Review & Description
This is the story of a boy who was born with a part of his body he didn't like. He was born with a shiny red helmet on his head. He can never take it off. Other kids laughed at him. Nobody wanted to play with him. His parents told him that he was lucky and if he studied very hard, he could do exciting things with that helmet! So he studied math and science and everything imaginable. Soon he grew and was able to do wondrous and exciting things because of his helmet! He never again regretted his helmet. He realized that there is a reason we all are like we are and he realized that he loved his helmet!
Mr. Burke was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. He Graduated from California State University Chico with a degree in Social Science. He has been in East Asia for the past 6 years, teaching English to 6, 7 and eight year olds. He currently lives and works in Pusan, South Korea. He has been doing wacky drawings for the children for years now and decided to finally put them into print. He is an adventurous guy who tried many things in his life and is now sharing some of that fun with children. To him there is nothing more satisfying than having a group of children listening attentively while you spin a story and having them gaze in amazement at your illustrations. In his free time, he likes to travel to Japan and The Philippines and soon to China and South-East Asia collecting more adventures! He loves drawing with pencil, markers and crayons.
